Our research group is part of the Youth Mental Health and Technology Team at the Brain and Mind Centre and the Molecular Precision Mental Health Node at the Charles Perkins Centre of the University of Sydney, Australia.
We focus on understanding mental health disorders and their underlying neurobiological principles, with a particular emphasis on adolescents and young adults. Identifying underlying pathophysiological processes in this age group can lead to more targeted treatment approaches and reduce the negative impact of both the disorder and treatment side effects.
Thanks to the contributions of many patients and healthy volunteers, we are able to study the human brain, mind, and related disorders, which helps us understand these underlying principles. Our hope is that this will lead to a better understanding of the neurobiological basis of mental disorders. Our goal is to develop not only new diagnostic perspectives but also innovative therapeutic approaches.
